A cold atmospheric front will pass through the country today, NIMH reports.
Cloudiness over the eastern regions will also increase, it will be significant and there will be rain showers in many places. The precipitation will be local, temporarily intense and significant in quantity during the day in Western and Central Bulgaria, and in the evening and at night against Sunday – in Eastern Bulgaria as well.
Orange and yellow codes have been issued for most areas of the country due to the expected rainfall.
An orange code has been announced for Blagoevgrad, Veliko Tarnovo, Vratsa, Gabrovo, Lovech, Pleven, Ruse and Targovishte. A yellow code has been announced for Vidin, Kardzhali, Kyustendil, Pernik, Plovdiv, Silistra, Sliven, Smolyan, Sofia-city, Sofia region, Stara Zagora and Shumen.
The codes are not valid for Burgas, Varna, Dobrich and Haskovo.
There will also be thunderstorms as the front passes from west to east. In the northwestern regions, the wind will be oriented from the west-northwest and will be weak to moderate; in the rest of the country it will be from the south-southwest – moderate, temporary and strong.
The maximum temperatures will be from 19-20 degrees in the western regions to 29-30 degrees in the eastern regions.
Above the Black Sea clouds will increase and be significant after noon. There will also be rain showers, in isolated areas with thunderstorms, significant – overnight into Sunday. Moderate to strong winds will blow from the south. Maximum temperatures will be 24-27 degrees. The temperature of the sea water is 21-22 degrees. The excitement of the sea will be 2-3 points.
In the mountains Cloudiness over the eastern regions will also increase and be significant. In many places, there will be rainfall, significant during the day in Western and Central Bulgaria, and in the evening and on the night of Sunday – and in Eastern. There will also be thunder. The wind in the massifs in the northwestern half of the country will be oriented from the northwest, it will be moderate and strong; in the east and on the higher parts, it will remain from the south-southwest, it will be temporarily stormy. The maximum temperature at an altitude of 1200 meters will be about 18 degrees, at 2000 meters – about 12 degrees, but with the passage of the cold atmospheric front, they will decrease.
Atmospheric pressure is and will remain lower than the average for the month.
