Maja Stark, who started Saturday’s third round in San Francisco on a under par after yesterday’s fine game, got off to a good start with two birdies on holes three and six. She then lost the lead with three bogeys and a double bogey to the 13th hole, where she was able to level with a final birdie. In the end, she went around on 73 strokes – two over par – and is now +1 after three rounds.
She is in a shared ninth place, after, among others, the leading American Lexi Thompson, who went a very nice round of 66 strokes.
Madelene Sagström is still the second best Swede, but has slipped down to a shared 30th place from yesterday’s 18th. Her third round went slightly worse than the first two, 75 strokes, against 71 in the first, and 73 in the second.
Things went a little worse for Pernilla Lindberg and Anna Nordqvist. Both are at eleven over par before the final round.
The leader after Friday’s round, 19-year-old Yuka Saso from the Philippines, was knocked down to second place after the American Lexi Thompson’s nice round of 66 strokes.
While one of Thursday’s leaders, American amateur Megha Ganne, is in third place, the Englishman Mel Reid, has dropped significantly on the results list down to a shared 23rd place.
