Helice. “From December 1st the community will have a new family doctor. Or, at least, it should have, according to what President Marsilio announced during one of the last sessions of the Regional Council, but we are three days away from the happy event and nowhere is the name of the professional on whom the citizens will be able to rely” .
This was reported by PD regional councilor Antonio Di Marco, author “of the mobilization in the regional council for a solution to the absence, since July, of a doctor in Elice and surrounding areas: “A community – he recalls – left without a doctor for the whole of last July and forced, to be visited or to get prescriptions, to travel kilometers in order to rely on existing facilities”.
“A concrete problem, that of Elice, but it is true that at least 60,000 Abruzzo residents find themselves in this condition, according to the data of the three acronyms of general practitioners FIMMG, SAMI and SMI and it is right that the Region acts as we hope it will do for Elice, applying the law and perhaps intervening on ASL notices so that they somehow condition the presence of the general practitioner for at least three years in the place indicated by the notice”, concludes Di Marco.
