Still in the Procurement Process, the Ministry of Health Immediately Sends Stock of Baby DPT Vaccine to Semarang

Merdeka.com – The stock of Diphtheria, Pertussis and Tetanus (DPT) vaccines for infants under one year old in Semarang is empty. The Semarang City Health Office asked the central government to immediately provide stock of DPT immunization.

Regarding this, the Spokesperson for the Covid-19 Vaccination of the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes), Siti Nadia Tarmizi admitted that there was a shortage of DPT vaccine stock. He also explained that the stock of DPT vaccine is still in the procurement process.

“Yes, the vaccine stock is still in the procurement process,” said Nadia in a short message to merdeka.com, Thursday (7/10).

He explained that the Ministry of Health will immediately send to areas that lack the DPT vaccine. So the babies can get the vaccine back.

“It will be sent as soon as possible,” he said.

Nadia also emphasized that the vacancy of the DPT vaccine stock was influenced by the availability of the global supply of vaccines. He also dismissed that the Ministry of Health prioritized the Covid-19 vaccine over the DPT vaccine.

“No, this depends on the availability of global supply of vaccines,” he concluded. [bal]
