Jakarta –
Pandemic Covid-19 will continue for a long time. It’s natural that the virtual world’s running and bicycle races are selling well.
Since the pandemic hit the world 1.5 years ago, many activities have to be limited or even impossible to do at all. Sport is one of the most affected.
Because sports usually involve many people and this is certainly not in line with the social distancing campaign that continues to be promoted, especially in Indonesia. However, sports fans have not lost their minds to keep sweating during the pandemic.
Moreover, exercise can be one way to prevent the spread of Covid-19 because the body becomes more fit. Well, one of the leading insurance companies AIA also realized that the Covid-19 pandemic is still not over.
Plus the fact that from the results of an online survey from the Center for Research and Population LIPI, one in five people who previously did not exercise, started the habit of exercising during the pandemic.
Then, there is also data from Sensor Tower which states that the number of fitness applications downloaded on smartphones increased by 47 percent in the second quarter of 2020. It happens that running and cycling are the most popular sports.
Meanwhile, the Indonesian Cycling Industry Association also stated that production capacity was increased by 20-30 percent to meet market demand.
Therefore, THAT also held the AIA Vitality Run & Ride which is a running and cycling event that has been going on since 3 September. The duration is fairly long because it just ends December 31.
