Despite a long break for both teams, the gas was pushed to the bottom directly in the northern derby. The tempo was high and the game wavered back and forth initially, but no clear goal chances appeared in the first period. Hardly any referee signals were heard either and the usually so hot derby was completed in record time.
A mistake by Skellefteå on the offensive blue line paved the way for Luleå to take the lead. It was a pass from home defender Philip Broberg that was broken by Luleå’s Nils Lundkvist. The young Luleåbacken got an open street towards Skellefteå’s goal and certainly put a wrist shot at goalkeeper Gustaf Lindvall’s right post. Then the match clock was 12.08 in the middle period.
