In the last few days, attempts at fraud via mobile phones have increased again. In none of the known cases was there a leak. Those called did not fall into the scam. In one case, an 86-year-old woman from Schiffdorf received a text message saying: “Hi Mom, my mobile is broken and I have a new number. Please write me on WhatsApp”. The victim did not reply to the SMS. Police advise: Ignore such messages – do not transfer money. Ask relatives on the known telephone number. Alert the police on the slightest suspicion of fraud.
