Meteo interview with meteorologist Antonio Sanò: still anomalous heat, then an autumn cyclone arrives
Worsening time in a few daysThe domination of the African anticyclone over much of Italy apparently continues unabated
We asked Antonio Sanò, director and founder of the site www.iLMeteo.it, what the feast day of All Saints will be like.
Between Halloween and All Saints’ Day the weather will still be largely stable and sunny in almost all regions (some rain only in the Northwest, a sign of a change), with temperatures well above the seasonal averages. This is a totally exceptional event for all of Europe, with maximum temperatures over 30 ° C in Italy and Spain, even up to 35 ° C in Andalusia.
But something could change already during the week, is it true?
Yes, that’s right. The latest updates from the European Center for Medium-Term Forecasts (ECMWF) confirm a very eventful second part of the week, due to the formation of a Mediterranean vortex that will give rise to intense thunderstorms, initially in the North and over Tuscany, but then also on the rest of the Center. Snow will also return, around 1500 meters above sea level.
In short, from summer to late autumn, without half measures!
That’s right, a truly dynamic and lively week awaits us, we will pass from a late summer scenario, with peaks of 29-30 degrees in some corners of Italy, to a late autumn scenario, with lots of rain and snow on our mountains, a breath of fresh air for the water reserves so severely tested by a severe drought.
