Dagbladet’s comment with criticism of restaurant Hyde should have come from someone who understands food.

Restaurant Hyde has provided high level food since opening. Been through a pandemic without any special support since they do not have many years on the neck with good operation and also no heavy financial muscles in the back. This is a small group that for several years has worked very hard to get things going and as we both know, they were decorated with a star in the Michelin guide recently. Some of the very best chefs and waiters we have in this country actually work there. I think it’s worth mentioning that I have no ownership of this restaurant and have never worked there, but I like to go there in my spare time to enjoy good food, drink and service.

‘This is not a review and I am no expert. I’m just a simple woman from Romerike who appreciates good food ». Then I wonder why in every day this is published? It is quite clear that you do not have the professional knowledge and you even write it yourself. Have you ever given it a thought how destructive such an article in one of Norway’s largest newspapers can be? The photos you have taken are of poor quality and make the overall impression even worse.
Did not have it would it be fair if Hyde got a food reviewer visiting instead? How do other restaurants get? I also wonder what day you visited the restaurant? Was it Friday night? Could you have been under the influence of alcohol? Example: “And after taking a bite of a beautifully cooked beef, but where I got a bite of hard fat, dinner was over for me” Terribly poorly worded.

Is not is it a bit unfair that you as a journalist in Dagbladet use this particular platform to publish about your half-baked visit to Hyde? When you yourself acknowledge that you are not an expert? Is that fair? Then you can rather express yourself via your personal channels and not abuse the power you obviously have in Dagbladet. For this was a private visit if I have understood it right?

I’m not an expert and is just an ordinary man from Drammen, but you are not a food critic either, so stick to yours and do not ruin other people’s work when you really are not qualified to comment on it! With that said, I think you should apologize and withdraw this comment which is not a “review” even if it is a review. The only reason this is not a review is because you are not eligible for it. Again, stick to your subject!
