Stian Blipp: – He overdid it for 15 years

– It felt like I ran a marathon in New York at the same time a hockey team beat the blood out of me.

As it describes Stian Blipp (32) the feeling he had when he realized he had stretched the elastic too much.

– I pushed it too far for 15 years, which is why it crashed this summer. So it doesn’t take two weeks to recover. For me, a lot of the work has been realizing that it’s going to take time.

Facing the wall

Dagbladet meets with Blipp in connection with his new show “Spice of Life,” which premieres December 16 on Amazon Prime. The 32-year-old seems comfortable talking about the difficult times he went through earlier this year.

However, he didn’t feel comfortable when he had to tell the entire Norwegian people, on prime time ‘Lindmo’, what he had been struggling with.

It was at the beginning November Blipp was a guest on the popular talk show. During the broadcast, the 32-year-old revealed that he had a panic attack so bad this summer that an ambulance had to go and get him.

It was then that he realized he had been depressed for a long time.

Blipp tells Dagbladet that he wasn’t at all sure he wanted to share the personal story about “Lindmo”.

– I told Lindmo that, “I’ll know when I’m sitting there.” If I feel like saying it, I say it. If not, I won’t. It wasn’t intended to focus on it.

Blipp goes on to say that he was very nervous before the show aired.

– When something is so painful and close to you, you don’t want it to appear as anything other than what it is. I didn’t want a feeling about it or the titles being overdramatized, she says, adding that she hasn’t seen the episode yet and doesn’t plan to either.

– How did you feel after the cameras were turned off?

– It was almost exhaustion, he replies while demonstrating that all the air comes out of the body.

Pay homage to the family

Shortly after the “Lindmo” interview, it also became known that Blipp was ill and therefore had to cancel the rest of this year’s “Cirque du Blipp” show in Oslo and Bergen.

This has given him plenty of time to stay home and pursue a hobby in which he finds a lot of comfort, namely gaming.

On tonight’s episode of “Senkveld with Helene and Stian,” consumer economist Silje Sandmæl saw how much money host Stian Blipp spends on Fortnite each year. And that’s a shocking amount of money.

In recent years, Blipp has had success with the ‘Nerdelandslaget’ podcast and is co-owner of e-sports team 00Nation. He says that the game has in many ways become a kind of salvation for him in those difficult times.

– Gaming is something I’ve always enjoyed. It has always been a good place to draw energy from. It’s a very nice way to turn off the brain, which runs at 2000 kilometers per hour. After an hour, it’s like doing an hour of yoga.

However, it’s not just the game that gives Blipp joy and motivation. His family, his wife Jamina (34) and his two children Noelle and Bowie, also meant a lot to him.

– They meant absolutely everything. I am everything, one hundred percent. I have everything to thank my wife for. And I also have to thank my children who do not know what they are doing. Every day they remind me, “Gosh, what a fat waist I have.”
