Through the journalist Oprah Winfrey’s program, the famous American singer, Stevie Wonder, made known his decision to emigrate from his country to Ghana, given the political upheaval and racism that this nation is experiencing.
According to DW, the award-winning performer, a native of Michigan, said he would like to see America smile again, before leaving for his new destination.
The author of hits like You are the sunshine of my life or I just called to say I love you, stressed that he does not want “my children’s children to have to say:“ Oh, please, like me. Please, respect me, please, I know that I am important, please value me ”. What’s that?”.
According to US media, this is not the first time the singer has considered moving to Ghana. In 1994 he said he felt there was “more sense of community” in that country than in the United States.
