Strong words were spoken in the new documentary by the American actor, but also by the well-known Russian propagandist Steven Seagal. The actor from action thrillers went to Russia and Vladimir Putin fell in love directly and now declares that he is ready “to die if necessary” precisely in the interest of this country.
Seagal states this in a documentary called “In the Name of Justice”which was published on October 10. The public learned about the fact that he was making a documentary about the “Russian truth” as early as 2022, when he claimed that he was already collecting material in the occupied Donbass. On the Russian media platform Smotrim, the action hero can now be seen visiting various occupied territories, including Mariupol.
Seagal with the warriors of Azov
In addition to walking around the occupied parts of Ukraine in the documentary, the actor chats with civilians, shares points of Kremlin propaganda – but with the help of a translator, because he probably doesn’t speak Russian – and even here he visits the supposed warriors of Azov, as reported by Ukrainian server The Kyiv Independent.
The actor also wrote a letter to Putin in which he mentions that now the president can see who his real friends are and that he will always fight on the side of “his president”. The server reminds and emphasizes that there is no indication that Seagal participated in any military activities.
Citizenship, Representative Relations and Order of Friendship
The celebrated documentary now adds to the list of evidence of this American actor’s affection for Russia and Putin. The latest of these pieces of evidence is Seagal’s participation in Putin’s inauguration this May. “He is the best world leader. He is the best,” among other things, the actor told reporters, adding that he was very much looking forward to his next and fifth term.
He also acquired Seagal a year ago Order of Friendship award for the fact that the actor has been on Putin’s side since the beginning of the Russian invasion. Let’s also not forget the role of “special envoy” for the US relationship with Russiawhich the actor won in 2018.
Seagal is also a Russian citizen since 2016, when Putin himself handed him a Russian passport, writes the internet portal Yahoo. The actor is also a member of the pro-Kremlin party A Just Russia – For Truth. He met Putin for the first time in 2011, when they were introduced by American producer Bob Van Ronkel, who organizes events for American celebrities in Russia. That’s when Putin and Seagal immediately hit it off – both are of a similar age and like martial arts. “It’s a perfectly normal friendship,” Putin’s spokesman said at the time. “I wouldn’t say he’s a big fan of his, but he’s definitely seen some of his movies.”
In a March 2014 interview with Rossiyskaya Gazeta, Seagal also stated that Putin is “one of the greatest living leaders in the world” and that he would be honored to call him his brother. In addition, Seagal established a relationship with the Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrovwho also attended the inauguration of Putin and who is a friend of Russia.
These are the current Russian losses according to the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense. The accuracy of the numbers cannot be verified.
