Steps to unsend emails in gmail

Country: If you use Gmail for email correspondence on your phone or computer, it’s good to know about the Undo Send feature, which allows you to unsend emails.

This feature works in the Gmail app or in the desktop version within 5 seconds of clicking the Send button.

This feature is useful for those times when you forget to attach a file in an email, or you notice that you misspelled a person’s name, or a certain word after hitting the send button.

The following steps explain how to undo sending an email in Gmail, and we’ll also show you how to extend the undo send duration to more than 5 seconds.

Follow these steps to unsend emails in Gmail

After you finish writing the email in Gmail, and click on the Send button.
A notification will appear at the bottom of the screen with an Undo button, click on it.
Your original message will appear again, allowing you to make any changes.

How to extend the cancellation period

by default; Gmail gives you five seconds to undo the sending, but you can increase this period up to 30 seconds to give you more time to fix any error, by following these steps:

Switch to the desktop version of Gmail.
Click the gear icon in the upper right to go to Settings.
Click the See all settings button.

Find the line containing the Undo Send option.
Click the drop-down menu next to the Send cancellation period option, then choose 5, 10, 20, or 30 seconds.
Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the Save changes button.
The undo send feature works the same way if you’re using the Gmail app or the desktop version, but you can extend the amount of time available to undo a send using the desktop version only.
