April Jones was walking past some pallets inside a Walmart in South Carolina in the USA in 2015, when she suddenly had severe pain in her foot.
Jones had stepped on a rusty nail, which stuck a hole through the shoe and into her foot, according to a lawsuit she filed in 2017, writes The Washington Post.
She went to the hospital to have the wound treated, and was told that she had contracted an infection in her foot, it is stated in the lawsuit.
It is not known what type of infection Jones got from the rusty nail, but she was told that her foot had to be amputated.

Three amputations
After three separate amputations, Jones has lost most of his right leg. She has been in a wheelchair for six years, and according to her lawyers, “her everyday life was completely changed”.
Jones sued Walmart, and last month a jury in South Carolina’s Florence County ruled that Walmart must pay her $ 10 million in damages. This corresponds to NOK 90 million. The sum will go to cover past and future medical bills.
