Founded in 1984, the Stephen Petronio Company has already performed in more than 25 countries around the world, including 35 engagements with New York City with 21 seasons at the Joyce Theater. The Company has completed commissions for Dance Umbrella Festival/London, Hebbel Theater/Berlin, Scène National de Sceaux, Festival d’Automne à Paris, CNDC Angers/France, Holland Festival, Festival Montpellier Danse, Danceworks UK Ltd, Festival de Danse– Cannes and in the United States for San Francisco Performances, The Joyce Theater, UCSB Arts & Lectures, Wexner Center for the Arts, Walker Art Center and White Bird, among others.
Stephen Petronio Company is pleased to announce the release of Bloodlines, an initiative to honor an incomparable lineage of American post-modern dance masters. Over the next five years, the Stephen Petronio company will devote itself to iconic choreographies whose genealogy spans the 20th and 21st centuries, alongside other original creations by Stephen Petronio.
