The Alcam rider won on Saturday evening in the streets of Mainvilliers on the occasion of the second edition of the Christmas bullfight. His clubmate Lise Cerisier won in the women’s category.
It took courage to brave the freezing temperatures of this penultimate Eurelian race of the 2022 program. a warm fanfare, he took part in the Christmas march, the mini bullfight, the youth bullfight and then the flagship race, the Christmas bullfight, over a distance of 7.5 km.
On the freezing night in Mainvilliers, the event was won by Stephen Mpassi (24’55”), who narrowly beat two of his team mates from Aclam, Olivier Petrus (24’59”) and Arnaud Jahier ( 25’03”) . In the women’s field, Lise Cerisier climbed to the top step of the podium in 30’29”, ahead of Claire Cailleaux (31’33”) and Vanessa Appasamy (31’51”).
Of all the contestants, Hugo Zerguini, a young economics student in Paris, took part in the meeting for the second time. Finished ninth in the first edition, Hugo had the ambition to do better this year. Starting off cautiously, he gradually accelerated. “I handled the slippery parts well,” he explains. And I was able to overtake the rider in front of me in the last kilometre. “He concluded with a good fourth place in 25’17”, congratulating Lise Cerisier “for the seriousness” a few minutes later.
