It was intense, a bit uneven, but the finish was worth the detour. This Monday, the Warriors had a very happy MLK Day by winning 127 to 118 in Washington. Relays between the different offensive options, some very good, from the Latvian, and some nice surprises coming off the bench: this is the debrief.
The pretty homemade boxscore is HERE!
“Draymond was incredible in the 4th quarter. Jordan Poole was in the first half…”. An analysis of the Chief which sums up quite well the dispersion of individuals, united in a single team when it mattered most. Throughout the game, we had the impression of being able to count on one but not on the other, then on the other but not on one: and zou, the Warriors became the Warriors again with a 34 to 25 in the last quarter. And shoo, Kristaps Porzingis too lonely, had to let the meeting slip away under the brutality of the big daggers (we say « daggers » mais we take a little wide) by Draymond Green. Really violent for once, to be murdered by a guy who squats to draw. In short, nothing has changed, when the Warriors accelerate many are dropped.
The Chef and Jordan Poole plugged into the same power strip: accumulation of 73 points at 24/48 shooting, 14 rebounds and 8 drop balls. They made the game and its setting, ultimately allowing the Warriors to rebound after four losses in five games. And we’re not talking about Stephen Curry’s “best” game this season. Far from there. Dell’s son only fired “what to” 43%, which remains quite far from its 49% union. However, the victory took shape around him. He planted a big one, Jordan Poole too, and didn’t distort his role players by sterilizing the offensives by monopolizing the ball. That for a veteran, it is to be underlined.
“Stephen Curry is the modern Michael Jordan. »
– Steve Kerr, in post-match conference
This allowed the second blades to be – and especially to make us – like. Victory of only nine points and yet… a plus/minus of +36 for Anthony Lamb ! 10 points and 5 rebounds, it’s not just the stats in life, there’s the hustle also. Quality winger, quite clinical in shooting and in his decision-making, must step-up in defense to become the ideal back-up for a contender. Well there’s still no debate, the Warriors must absolutely guarantee the contract of this 24-year-old non-drafted. He has just 60 NBA games in his legs and is showing great audacity. Not afraid to draw at the end of the clock, nor to take his one-on-one when the ball spins a little too much.
Lots of compliments that we also send to Donte DiVincenzo. Awkward from afar (0/4 from the car park) but cantankerous and not allergic to drives. It’s nice that he is not confined to this role of rouquemoute who draws. From the county to the NBA, getting closer to the circle has always been the best thing we have done to regain confidence. Donte got it.
Ton of Warriors (Steph Curry) fans in DC today. Here’s the crowd reaction after this jumper gave him 39 points. pic.twitter.com/GpYaGAmiMD
