The NBA All-Star Game is only three months away, but Adam Silver knows it’s urgent to find a way to restore the all-star game to its former glory. For this, he contacted Stephen Curry in person.
We’re not going to hide it, the 2024 All-Star Game was a real rubbish, with almost 400 points scored in total, including 211 for the winning team (records obviously). We still remember Adam Silver’s face when handing out the post-match trophies, clearly frustrated with the terrible lack of intensity that characterized the All-Star Game in Indianapolis.
Played in a classic East vs. West format last year, the All-Star Game should once again change format to try to make this prestigious match finally more competitive. Why Stephen Curry?
In addition to his status as a superstar and face of the NBA with LeBron James, Curry will welcome his friends next February since the All-Star Weekend will take place in San Francisco (Chase Center).

The commissioner did not want to go into details and remains very vague on this potential new format, but the NBA could abandon that of a traditional match which, clearly, no longer works. Perhaps Silver wants to take inspiration from other leagues like the NFL for example, which in recent years has replaced its Pro Bowl (NFL All-Star Game) with different contests and a flag football game.
In addition to his discussions with Curry, Adam Silver created a committee with certain NBA executives (including Joe Dumars) whose mission will be to speak to the various team representatives and the players’ association. Enough to find a nice alternative?
