Actress Stephanie Jones, who played the role of Mary Jane in the Spider-Man titles from Insomniac Games, posted a message in social networks. In it, the girl complained about the fans of the game, who recently began to actively pursue her:
Dear Spider-Man fans! I appreciate your love for my role in the Spider-Man games and the positive feedback I’ve received from you over the years about my version of Mary Jane. However, I am no longer an actress or model auditioning. The shoots I do now are purely creative and a way to collaborate with friends I love.
Over the weekend, some subscribers crossed the line. One even went so far as to call me at work and leave several voicemails wanting to talk to me and asking me to call me back, which is unacceptable and considered harassment. My skincare page is not intended for Spiderman or Mary Jane fans at all.
When I arrived at work this morning, I immediately felt unsafe and uncomfortable when I heard these voicemails. I ask you not to cross the boundaries of what is permitted. I won’t respond to messages, I will block you if you make me feel uncomfortable, and you can unfollow me if it makes you unhappy.
Thank you.
Interestingly, Stephanie Jones, according to her, is no longer an actress and does not audition for any roles. Does this mean Mary Jane won’t appear in future Spider-Man games?
