The star host of M6, Stéphane Plaza, was questioned on Tuesday March 12 by the police as part of a preliminary investigation into domestic violence. Targeted by the accusations of three of his former partners, he was summoned to explain these allegations of physical and psychological abuse. A case which shakes the image of the PAF’s most famous real estate agent.
Testimonies from his ex-partners
It all started last September when the investigative site Mediapart published an investigation bringing together the testimonies of three former companions by Stéphane Plaza. They accuse him of having humiliated them, threatened them and, for two of them, physically brutalized them during their relationship.
One of them, named Jade in the article, claims to have been broken three fingers during an argument with the host in April 2022. She says she was violently slammed against a wall, one arm under her throat. Examined at the medical-judicial units in December, a doctor granted her 10 days of ITT (total incapacity for work).
The other two women, Eva and Julia, describe a man “very aggressive”, habitual of biting and threatening, including in public. Alleged SMS apologies sent by Stéphane Plaza after outbursts of violence were included in the file.
Plaza denies it outright and calls it a conspiracy
Faced with these accusations, the one who has officiated on the show since 2015 Apartment hunters on M6 immediately counterattacked. Through his lawyers, he denounced “false and defamatory accusations” and assured that it was a plot orchestrated by ex-partners who had not digested their breakup.
Before going to his summons by the police this Tuesday, he also congratulated himself on Instagram to finally be able to “express yourself for the first time“.
No sanction for the moment from M6
Following the revelations of Mediapartthe Paris prosecutor’s office opened a Preliminary investigation in October for domestic violence. Two complaints were filed against the 53-year-old host. But internally, the investigations carried out by the M6 group have not yet resulted in any sanctions.
Nicolas de Tavernost, chairman of the board, assured at the beginning of November that no element justified at this stage disciplinary measures against his star. The presumption of innocence remains until the courts have ruled. But this affair is likely to permanently damage the image of the French favorite presenter, elected favorite TV personality in the latest TV Magazine poll.
