When the host asked him if he enjoyed his fame, his response was amazing. “I have no choice now”he said jokingly.
He then tells how he had to deal with this sudden notoriety. “When I started TV, I didn’t know how big it was going to get.“ A phenomenon not easy to accept, but with which he learned to live. “That is to say that at one point, we said ‘Stéphane is famous’ and all of a sudden, I was ‘Plaza’. Then I was recognized as soon as I spoke, it was my voice that was famous, explains Stéphane Plaza. A success that has “completely outdated”, says the real estate agent. Constrained to wear a mask during the coronavirus pandemic, he even explains that some of his fans managed to recognize him by his gait or his scooter. Aware that all of this could end overnight, he keeps his head on his shoulders. “Now that I’m famous, people will either say I’m a has-been or I’m still in TV. So I have no choice, and I’m taking sides,” said Sophie Ferjani’s sidekick.
Close to the public
A radical change of life, but which does not seem to displease Stéphane Plaza. The latter says he is very grateful to his audience, who have praised him for many years. “I don’t forget why I’m famous. It’s because people watch me on TV. So whether I’m going to the dentist, whether I’m late or taking a train, I still choose to stop if someone asks me for a selfie“, assures the favorite animator of the French. “VSIt is thanks to these people who look at me that I can do everything that I want”, concludes Stéphane Plaza.
