Stéphane Plaza and Manu: the challenge of a lifetime in the New York marathon
The Marathon is the adventure of a lifetime for many runners. Everyone comes there with their reasons, their motivations, and regardless of the difficulties and the result, everyone remembers their first marathon.
Whether for Stéphane Plaza or Manu, the marathon presented itself as a challenge, occurring at a time in their lives when they felt ready. Each in their own way, they embarked on a more or less long, more or less rigorous preparation with a single goal: to finish the New York Marathon.
The path to the New York Marathon: an initiatory journey
The Marathon is not only played on D-Day. It’s a long-term preparation, made up of racing sessions but also of questioning his rhythm of life, his nutrition, his time management… Stéphane and Manu were no exception to this rule.

They had to adapt, prepare their bodies and their minds for this mythical ordeal. With hindsight, at D-1 of the start, they take stock. The latter is clear: the preparation for the New York Marathon has changed their perception for many things. The learning of calm, introspection, the development of the mind despite the pain… Over the training sessions, these two hyperactive people managed to learn more about themselves.
But what moves these two self-taught men is the support they have received from those close to them. Unfailing support, despite the doubts of some, surprised by this challenge, especially in the entourage of Stéphane Plaza.
