It has been four years since Eure-et-Loir had no official departmental coordinator for the Telethon. Appointed in September, Stéphane Hourdillé intends to remobilize the Euréliens for this cause which affects him particularly: “I have three children and my second suffers from a genetic disease. »
This 49-year-old retired soldier, originally from the South West and who spent twenty-five years in the French Navy, settled in Chartres in 2019. And if he now carries out his professional activity as an independent real estate agent, he also wanted to invest for the benefit of community.
1st objective: “Go through the Telethon and survive”
“As a soldier, I have a good understanding of the notion of service. Before the summer, I registered on the All Volunteers website and was contacted by the regional manager of the AFM. My first goal is to pass Telethon 2022 and survive,” he laughs.
This year, around thirty commitment contracts have been signed to organize an event for Telethon, compared to around sixty in 2021. Stéphane Hourdillé’s goal is to reach at least forty by 2 December. “And to double this number in 2023”, says the departmental coordinator who welcomes the strong mobilization of Châteaudun, Luisant or Nogent-le-Phaye.
2nd objective: “rebuild a real team”
Far from being an end in itself, the 2022 edition of Telethon will only mark the beginning of the mission that Stéphane Hourdillé has set himself.
“In early 2023, I will be working on consolidating the coordination team. Officially today there are four of us, but I would like to reconstitute a real team, recruit members of the sector team and remobilize Eure-et-Loir for the Telethon. I will be happy to welcome any volunteers who wish to get involved with us. »
5th edition of the Telethon in images: solidarity in the spotlight in the Eure-et-Loir
Last but not least goal: “Making Chartres an ambassador city of the Telethon in 2023. It may be utopian, but it doesn’t scare me. My past as a sailor taught me to face the waves, whatever their height…”
Practice. The AFM Téléthon 28 coordination is open every Friday, from 4 to 6 pm, at 11 pm, place Saint-Louis in Chartres. It is also possible to make an appointment by email: [email protected].
