Stéphane Gosse, the new president of the departmental pétanque committee

Committee 28 will try to find stability with the election of Stéphane Gosse at its head. Because since the departure of Jean-Paul Chappe in 2016, who remained in power for 26 years, heads have continued to turn. Benoît Gréco had thus taken over. But the president of Dreux Pétanque was forced to resign after two years. Marc Sébastien had succeeded him, for only one year. Christian Dupuy took over the reins in November 2019.

“We hope for a recovery in May”

Since January 16, the committee has found a new president, Stéphane Gosse. This general assembly was held in Lucé in the presence of the twenty club presidents. “There was only one list and Mr. Dupuy did not represent himself,” indicates Stéphane Gosse (44) who knows the workings of the committee well since he was its treasurer for ten years. In addition, he has been president of the Lucé club for four years, after having also been, a few years ago, the number 1 of the Mainvilliers club.

Philippe Quintais returns to the Center region

Even if the boules activity is at a standstill due to the Covid crisis, the new boss of pétanque 28 hopes that the season will not be once again white like the previous one. “Our season usually starts at the beginning of March with the departmental championships, but that seems very hypothetical. We hope to resume in May so that the French championships can take place this summer… ”

Arrou replaces Voves

After a nightmarish year 2020 where no competition could take place, Committee 28 lost a club, Voves. However, a new one arrived, Arrou, which still makes twenty clubs in Eure-et-Loir.
Side licensees, there were a little more than 1,000 at the last census, There, the figure is nebulous. “As the competitions have not resumed, we are currently out of 300 licensees. As long as you don’t have visibility, it’s complicated, ”explains Stéphane Gosse, who also works for the rectorate of the Orléans-Tours academy.
