At the end of January, Ella signed a contract with modeling agency IMG, for which Gigi Hadid and Karlie Kloss also work. “I was quite surprised with the offer to sign with them. When I was younger I never thought I could make such a step.”

Emhoff’s father Doug is married to Kamala Harris, whom Ella and her brother Cole affectionately call “Momala.” The vice president has a strong bond with her stepchildren, as well as with their mother Kerstin Emhoff, Doug’s first wife. In fact, the two are such close friends that Kerstin sat next to her children when Kamala was sworn in as the United States’ first female vice president.
