Stellantis is ready to conquer the market

Abarth has officially announced the next model of the Scorpion, to the delight of enthusiasts. There is only one problem: to have it, you have to be… polyglots. Here’s why.

It is one of the most loved brands in Italy: founded in March 1949, the house of the Scorpio created by the Italian-Austrian Carlo Abarth has given us real pearls, especially in recent years with increasingly hardcore versions of the Fiat 500, transformed from a peaceful small car to a sporty city car. Obviously, however, the changes made by the brand are certainly not limited to the city car.

The brand according to what has been leaked in these hours by people close to the Stellantis Group it would be ready for a major commercial upgrade that will bring at least one new model to the market. The news was made official by various local newspapers, including Motori Online. It seems that the future of Scorpio in this 2022 is one of the priorities of the Fiat Group.

It was Antonio Filosa, one of the CEOs of the Stellantis Group who is in charge of curating a specific sector market of the brand to make this announcement: the Scorpio price list is about to welcome new models, one of all that seems rather interesting to us. But now the bad news: we Italians may not benefit from this fact.

To the charge … of the Cariocas

In fact, Antonio Filosa is the main executive to whom the Stellantis Group salespeople refer in the Latin American market, in particular of the Brazilian one which represents an important slice of profits for Fiat. Abarth – Filosa has implicitly admitted – is about to land in Brazil and will do so with “hardcore” versions of the cars produced locally.

Abarth Pulse, out soon (Abarth)

This move could not having arrived by chance in this specific historical moment. In fact, if the European market favors electric cars, the Latin American market could continue to demand petrol models. Abarth would therefore be the host in a market that is perhaps less central but certainly very profitable for brands such as Fiat that have a consolidated reputation overseas.

The first model that could start invading Brazilian streets with the scorpion mark on its face is the Fiat Pulse, a crossover produced only on the local market. The images of the Abarth version of the car are already circulating on social networks even if many are created by amateur graphic designers. What can I say then by Fastback, Fiat project that we may soon see on the street? Local sources tell us that production of the two models with the Abarth brand could start as early as October: will it be so?
