The Shell Dream Tour Salvador continues the 5th stage of the dispute for the Brazilian men’s and women’s titles in the Main Division of the Brazilian Surfing Confederation. After the Maceió stage, the event’s setting continues to be the Northeast region of Brazil, on Stella Maris beach, in Salvador. From November 14th to 20th, the place, known for its good waves and natural pools, will become the epicenter of national surfing.

The 5th stage promises even more exciting moments, as the definition of the ranking for national champions is increasingly tighter. Furthermore, only the top 40 athletes in the men’s ranking and 16 in the women’s ranking will be guaranteed a place at the end of the competitions for the 2024 season.

In addition to the search for these coveted spots, the penultimate stage will promote a surfing show between the big names in the sport competing for the top title of this event, which is a showcase for national surfing on the international stage.

The fifth stage will feature athletes Deivid Silva and Nathalie Martins as the wildcards. Surfer Deivid has several years of career in the sport and has just been champion of the highly contested Challenge Series competition, in Portugal, while Nathalie Martins from Paraná is the South American women’s surfing champion and currently 3rd in the Taça Brasil Circuit. A pioneer in aerial maneuvers, she was the first surfer to complete an aerial in a women’s surfing championship in the country. Both were invited and will compete in the Bahia stage.

Stella Maris beach is considered one of the cleanest in Salvador, making it a good option for those looking to escape the crowds, as it has a large stretch of sand. Surfers from the region are also present there, the peak receives waves from all directions and the beach has the highest wave frequency in the city, in addition to the different ditches spread out.

The president of the Brazilian Surfing Confederation, Teco Padaratz, comments on the importance of this event. “The Dream Tour is the crown jewel of Brazilian surfing, and we are excited to bring this stage that we consider crucial to Stella Maris beach, in Salvador. It is a unique opportunity for our talented surfers to demonstrate their skills at home, in challenging conditions “, he said.
