It is on the street of the billionaires, the so-called Billionairs Row: The Steinway Tower with a view of Central Park. The skyscraper, also known as 111 West 57th Street, is the new landmark in the New York district of Manhattan – and is finally ready for occupancy.
435 meters high and extremely slender, designed by the New York architectural office SHoP Architects: Its floor plan measures just 24 x 18 meters. According to the architecture magazine Dezeen, it is the narrowest skyscraper in the world. Construction started in 2013.
There are only 60 apartments on the 85 floors, with a maximum of one per floor. Many apartments are spread over several floors.
66 million apartment
The travel website Travelbook knows that the prices in the new luxury skyscraper are staggered depending on the size of the apartment and the height of the building. The currently cheapest, still available apartment with 239 square meters is 7.7 million dollars. The view isn’t that great.
High-end and high up: With 662 square meters on 3 floors, the most expensive apartment that can currently be bought is 66 million dollars.
The building is not accessible to the foot soldiers. So only the multi-millionaires who can buy their own home here can benefit from the view. (euros)
