Belastoka “Jagiellonia”, represented by Latvian national goalkeeper Pavel Steinbor, won the fourth round of the Polish Premier League on Monday, while Dāvis Ikaunieks was not in the team’s “Mlada Boleslav” first victory of the season in the Czech top league game.
In the Polish championship, Białystok “Jagiellonia” won the 2019 national champion Gliwice “Piast” with 1: 0 (0: 0) away.
Steinbor played the whole match and kept his goal “dry”.
Hesus Imass scored the only goal in the 58th minute of the match with a long shot.
After the ball was lifted in from the left, Maceja Makuševska was on his own in the home side’s penalty area and should have scored after 37 minutes, but missed, probably due to lack of concentration.
After four games with nine points, the second place is Czestochowa’s “Rakow” represented by Vladislav Gutkovskis. It is followed by Eagle Steinbor’s Jagiellonia, represented by Pavel Steinbor, with eight points, and the eighth with six points is Gdansk’s Lechia with the injured Krister Tober.
Latvian national football team striker Dāvis Ikaunieks was not included in “Mlada Boleslav” at home with a 2: 0 (1: 0) win against Jablonec on Monday.
Onjžejs Zahustels scored the goal in the 30th minute, but Dominiks Mašeks strengthened the lead in the 86th minute.
Thus, “Mlada Boleslav” was the first victory in four games of the season, which with three points in the tournament table allows to take the 14th place among 18 teams.
The Latvian footballer has been hired to the Mlad Boleslav team until June 30, 2021.
