It has been practically seven months since the day that changed the life of Stefano Tacconi and his family. He was the April 23rd last year, the former goalkeeper of Juventus, Genoa and the national team was in Asti for an event with his son Andrea and from there the darkness.
Tacconi was rushed to hospital after being suddenly hit by acerebral ischemia. The aneurysm endangered his life, so much so that he was immediately transferred from Asti to Alessandria, the closest hospital equipped to treat him.
And he is still there today, with his conditions having stabilized for some time even if the family’s wish to bring him home has not yet come true. After all, however, Dr. Barbanera, director of the Neurosurgery department of the Alessandria hospital, was clear from the start: “I’m sure that the operation and the help were fundamental for Tacconi’s safety. If it had all happened in the middle of the night, he would have died.”

Much credit therefore to the timely intervention of his son Andrea, one of the people closest to him because they have a wine business together, but also because he has been a link with the fans ever since. At the time he was among the first to update his father’s conditions via social media and he still does now.
The first turning point came in mid-June with a statement from the Alessandria hospital which treated him right away. “Since Stefano’s condition was found to be stable from the CAT scan, he was transferred to the Borsalino Rehabilitation Unit of the Alessandria hospital. Here he will be able to begin his rehabilitation process: he has already regained good vigilance, so the conditions for a progressive improvement are there. Of course he will still have to carry out some radiological checks, but after the last operation he no longer has any outstanding problems ”.
The Borsalino Presidium, a few kilometers from the hospital where Tacconi was hospitalized, deals with the rehabilitation of patients with cardio-respiratory, orthopedic and neurological problems, like him.
Andrea at the time via social media had also posted a tender image of their intertwining hands, with another message: “It will be a long and winding road… but as always we will do it together”, accompanied by a heart.

The real revolution will be when Stefano Tacconi will be able to go home, a date that no one knows at the moment. The latest update, at least until today, on his condition had always arrived through his son at the end of October: “There have been some step back in his condition but to date he is recovering slowly ”.
Stefano was once again transferred from the Borsalino rehabilitation facility in Alessandria, where he spent three long months, to the main hospital of the Piedmontese city. There he continues his fight for normal living conditions knowing that everyone is rooting for him.

And now finally, a new post by Andrew which shocked everyone. You posted on Instagram a video of your father who performs on the stage of the Ariston Theater in Sanremo on the occasion of the Campioni e & Canzoni Festival, just three years ago.
On that occasion Tacconi had finished second behind the former blue basketball player Fabrizio Della Fiori who had performed with a tear on his face. But he sang well I miss youby Fausto Leali, finishing second. And Andrea, like the whole family, misses those moments.
