The children of the caretaker Prime Minister Stefan Yanev work in the state companies Bulgarian Energy Holding (BEH) and Bulgargaz. This was confirmed in an official answer to questions from GERB / UDF MP Dimitar Yanev, signed by the caretaker Minister of Energy Andrey Zhivkov.
It is an interesting fact that the names of Yanev’s children were deleted in the answer, but Yanev claimed that the son of the caretaker Prime Minister Konstantin started working in BEH as a “junior expert on European projects” in the fall of 2017, and his daughter Ekaterina was staff in Bulgargaz also since 2017, writes actualno.com.
According to the official answer, however, one of Yanev’s children was appointed to BEH on April 18, 2017 (a masculine gender was used in the sentence in which the name was deleted) – then Yanev was Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense in Ognyan Gerdjikov’s caretaker government, and the other – on 01.06.2020 in Bulgargaz (feminine is used in the sentence in which the name is deleted). At that time, the caretaker government, headed by Yanev, was already leading Bulgaria. In the first case, the appointment has a probationary period of 6 months, while in the second – directly on an employment contract.
In addition, in the first case, Yanev’s child managed to get the position of “gas projects expert”, after he was initially a junior expert in the same department – for gas projects, the increase being “according to the business qualities shown”. He deals with financial issues, as he has a degree in finance. The second is an expert in Bulgargaz’s International Cooperation Department.
Engages in “preparation for meetings and conversations between representatives of the company and trading partners in the country and abroad, translates from and into English, participates in the preparation of correspondence for contractors in the country and abroad, as well as the preparation of materials for the representatives of the mass media “.
The diploma in this case is for “Public Administration” – from Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”. It is also clear from the answer that none of Yanev’s children went through a competition, because in the sense of the Commercial Law BEH and Bulgargaz are commercial companies and there is no legal requirement to hold competitions.
