Stefan Hendrikx is the winner of the 43rd edition of the Leids Cabaret Festival. He received the jury award for his performance on Saturday evening. The final took place in the Leidse Schouwburg, where Hendrikx competed against Celine Schrama and Piet van Eeghen.
“When Stefan Hendrikx comes up, you immediately see that we are dealing with an all-round performer”, the professional jury reports in the jury report. “Stefan challenges us all to push our limits. He is very funny.”
Piet van Eeghen received the audience award and Celine Schrama the student award. It is the first time that all three finalists have received an award. On 25 June they will perform again in the Leidse Schouwburg.
Last year the competition was canceled due to the corona virus. In 2020 Lisa Ostermann won the professional jury prize, the public prize and the student prize with the program What the other wants to hear.
The event was first organized in 1978. Since then, the Leids Cabaret Festival has produced countless top comedians, including Najib Amhali, Paulien Cornelisse, Dolf Jansen and Sanne Wallis de Vries.
