The ninth edition of the Genuss Film Festival Zug ended on Thursday evening with the “Soirée Photo”. The initiators Ulrich Straub, Stefan Meier and Matthias Luchsinger look back positively on the festival: “A large number of Zug residents visited the 9th Genuss Film Festival Zug and enjoyed it to the fullest,” they are quoted as saying in a statement. “By awarding seven awards, we would like to focus specifically on the tireless and creative commitment of those working in the arts, be it in the areas of film, photography, literature or culinary art.”
During the festival, among other things, the Genuss Book Award was presented to crime author Tom Hillenbrand for his crime series about star chef Xavier Kieffer. The Swiss actor Stefan Gubser was delighted to receive the Genuss Film Award. And from a culinary point of view, Enzo Andreatta from Ristorante Da Enzo in Ponte Brolla received the Genuss Koch Award. The Genuss Wein Award honors personalities who have dedicated their lives to the topic of wine. This year’s prize went to Louis Latour.
Photographers also receive awards
Festival participants were able to vote in advance on the winner of the “Genuss Foto Award” in an online voting. There were different series of images from five different photographers to choose from (zentralplus reported). The winner was Jennifer Pitton, who impressed the audience with photographs of mountain panoramas combined with champagne glasses.
Gary Soskin received the award for “Zug Photographer of the Year”. Soskin, born in New York, has lived and worked as a photographer in Zug for many years and is, among other things, responsible for what is probably Switzerland’s smallest gallery, the Fotoforum Zug (zentralplus reported). On Thursday evening he was honored for his work. Last year the prize went to Andreas Busslinger (zentralplus reported). The K’werk Photo Award, presented for the second time, went to the two young people Sophia Hegnauer and Selina Briner. The works of the two young photographers were created as part of the K’werk photography course.
Although the Genuss Film Festival in Zug has ended, the festival season still continues – albeit a few kilometers away. Next spring, the Genuss Film Festival will be held in Andermatt for several days, with the tried and tested concept: film, 4-course dinner and discussions (zentralplus reported).
