Stefan de Walle on new comedy series: “A different way of playing” | NOW

Actors Stefan de Walle and André Dongelmans can be seen in the new comedy series from next Sunday Nothing To Report. It almost only shows scenes in which two people have conversations with each other. A completely different way of playing, the actors say.

De Walle plays the role of a police officer in the new series of BNNVARA. Together with opponent Henry van Loon, he sits for hours in the police car posted at a suspicious location. “There is little physical action in the series, but a lot of verbal action. You just see two men having the most absurdist conversations with each other,” said De Walle.

Nothing To Report is a remake of the Australian series No Activity. Because a scene is always played in the same setting, the actors and actresses in the series mainly had to rely on their own theater skills, says actor André Dongelmans.

‘Way of playing sometimes scary’

“I found the way of playing scary at times. You only have the text to fall back on when you play a scene like that,” said Dongelmans. For the actor, who plays a criminal, this was the first time he had to work with so much dialogue for a film or series. “I’ve done that on stage, but never in front of TV.”

De Walle experienced the shooting days as “fast” and “intensive”. “I don’t think I’ve ever shot a series in such a short time,” said the actor. Dongelmans was also amazed at the speed with which the series was filmed. “It really felt like a blast,” said Dongelmans.

In Nothing To Report In addition to De Walle and Dongelmans, Theo Maassen, Jelka van Houten and Jim Deddes are among the cast. Nothing To Report can be seen from Sunday on NPO3, at 10:35 PM.
