The duo from Achterhoek was the main guest in the popular NPO 1 program last night, presented by Nick and Simon because of the burn-out from Jan Smit. Colleagues like Sanne Hans and Diggy Dex impressed the couple with covers of songs that are dear to them, but the biggest surprise turned out to come at the end.

Stef Bos introduced his performance modestly, but the Papasinger did have a purpose. As if no one else was in the famous Ibiza tent, he looked at Suzan and Freek almost continuously during his performance. At the end of the song, a loaded chanson in his version, he addressed paternal words to the couple. “Make something beautiful out of it,” he said. “Sing the stars from the heavens for all eternity.”

The 59-year-old singer appeared to have warm feelings for Suzan Stortelder (28) and Freek Rikkerink (27), who remind him of his own early days in music. “I wanted to tell them something,” he said after the performance. “That they make beautiful things. (…) That it is so beautiful to work with music. And it gets more and more fun as you get older, because the ballast goes overboard. I wanted to tell them that. ”

They will probably never forget that message; Stef hit the duo well and Suzan did not keep it dry. “Stef looks at you right away,” said the singer after the performance. “Then he starts singing that song … you really break. You really cannot keep that up. ”
The other colleagues were also short of superlatives. “Stef is just a boss”, responded Diggy Dex. “How he delivers that, wonderful.” Sanne Hans called the performance ‘wonderful’. “He did it to perfection.”

When Suzan and Freek had to choose a winner who had made the most impression at the end of the show, it was a done deal. All those present pointed in the same direction at the same time: “Stef Bos!”
