The wall will consist of 5 m high steel pillars, over which an additional barbed wire barrier will be fixed. The total height of the structure will be 5.5 m. The length of the fence in the Podlaskie Voivodeship will be 180 km, and in the Lubelskie Voivodeship, where the Western Bug is a natural barrier, other ways of strengthening the border will be used.
The government also plans to increase the number of border guards by 750 people.
