- Steam Deck comes with built-in mod support
- This was revealed by two senior Valve employees during an interview
- They think Steam Deck will be expected to be exactly like a classic PC
A few days for Valve announced the Steam Deck, which is very similar to a handheld console, however, the company prefers to refer to it as a portable PC. And this name is not accidental at all, because according to the first information, the Steam Deck really behaves like a computer, which we can even pull out of our pockets on the bus. From a software point of view, for example, it will be completely open, that is, we will install whatever we want on it, and now it turns out that the modes are also supported by the platform at full chest width.
All of this was discussed by two Valve employees, Greg Coomer and Pierre-Loup Griffais, in an interview. It was said here that the Steam Decken will run exactly the same Steam as on a traditional PC, only the user interface will be a little different and as such, we will have easy access to the Steam Workshop mods as well. However, this is not all, as we will be able to install anything from ModDB or NexusMods, just as if we were playing on a traditional PC.
