Previously, we only had one launch window in the form of the month of February 2022 for the launch of Steam Deck. Now Valve has confirmed that it is on February 25 that reviews and first impressions will be publicly available.
A lot of hype has been built ahead of Valve’s launch of Steam Deck. However, the gaming laptop has had a somewhat unclear launch window until now. Previously, Valve has not said much more than that the unit would start finding its way to customers sometime during the month of February. Now the dates have been updated and we know a little more about how Valve has structured the launch of Steam Deck.
The official launch will take place on February 25. However, this does not mean that customers will be sitting with their Steam Decks in hand on 25 February. That date is reserved for reviews and other types of previews on the console that will be published from then on. Valve then aims to start sending out the first round of units on 28 February.
On February 25, Valve will send out the first batch of order emails to those who have pre-booked a Steam Deck. Customers have three days to complete their purchase or get rid of their reservation. These emails will begin to be sent out in the order in which the reservations were made. Which means that those who reserved a Steam Deck early will have the opportunity to click home their device earlier than others.
