Stealth Video Goes Viral: Gamer Criticizes Starfield’s Animations and Compares it to Cyberpunk 2077

Last week, a video went viral online, the author of which skillfully threw enemies into Starfield, alternating between stealth and effective use of abilities. PC Gamer interviewed the gamer, in which he talked about the creation of the video and criticized Bethesda for the animations:

Stealth video by Starfield was planned and choreographed in advance to ensure that everything would go according to plan and that I would be able to take advantage of the game’s features without frills. Stealth mechanics Starfield a bit rough around the edges so I had to find the “right” route to get rid of the NPCs… I didn’t use any mods or console commands to create the video, so basically anyone with enough patience and the right build should be able to replicate this.

The author himself, under the nickname Benjamin_Winters, is a big fan of Cyberpunk 2077 and dedicated his entire channel to this game. So it’s not surprising that journalists asked him to compare both games:

Compared to Cyberpunk 2077, it seems to me that Starfield There’s a lack of polish in player movement, animation, and stealth in general… Switching weapons cancels the player’s slide, activating abilities or throwing a grenade locks you into an animation and you can’t pull off a cool weapon combo, swinging a melee weapon feels sluggish, etc .d. All of this makes the player’s movements in Starfield clunky and even outdated.

Starfield is great in many other ways and I don’t want to compare the two games as they are very different from each other. However, when it comes to combat and stealth, I think Cyberpunk takes the cake.

Starfield available on PC and Xbox Series X/S. As for Cyberpunk 2077, on September 26 the game will receive its first and only major expansion, Phantom Liberty.
