Staysman: Avoiding the use of 20-something girls was our intention

(FB) The song “Gamleveien” which is released today, is a collaboration between Hagle (André Jensen and Olav Tokerud), Sputnik (Knut T. Storbukås) and Stian “Staysman” Thorbjørnsen.

In the back seat of a green Opel Manta

– Hanne Krogh himself answered yes to my message, grins rølper and presenter Stian “Staysman” Thorbjørnsen (41).

After he was part of the TV 2 program “Hver gang vi møtes” with Hanne Krogh (67), he tattooed her name on his shoulder.

In the back seat of a green Opel Manta, he also got Katrine Moholt (49) and Sandra Lyng (35) with him.

In recent years, he has shared the presenter job with Moholt on TV 2’s “Allsang på grensen”.

– We didn’t want to use girls in their 20s like “everyone” does in music videos. We want to show that the rug is for everyone – regardless of age, says Staysman.

– Stian got an idea

In the music video “Gamleveien” you can see both Hagle, Staysman, Sputnik, Hanne Krogh, Kathrine Moholt and Sandra Lyng.

– We were sitting in the studio working on the song when Stian got the idea to include Sputnik on the song. It is normal to get many special ideas in a creative process – and most of them never come to fruition, but this time we just had to check if it could be done, says André Jensen.

Hagle is the Mysen duo consisting of André Jensen and Olav Tokerud – and they have collaborated with Staysman several times.

Hagle released his first single in 2020 – “Traktor”.

And several of the songs were included in the NRK series “Rådebank” – such as “Ærmen i kærmen” and “Bøgda”.

– Sputnik is a legend

Much of the inspiration for Hagle’s lyrics comes from their upbringing on the “bøgda” in Østfold.

They mix rap with country and instruments such as banjo, fiddle and accordion.

– Sputnik is no less than a legend in Norwegian music history. The whole country has probably grown up singing along to Sputnik’s tapes on car journeys. And we feel that he is, in a way, the forerunner of the music we make today, says Olav Tokerud.

Sputnik’s most famous songs are “Skilles Johanne” and “Lukk opp din hrettedør”.

And André Jensen adds:

– We met Sputnik in his permanent music studio in Skien to record his part of the song, and then of course it was a little trip on the rag with everyone involved!
