Stay Human minor update 1.8.1 available

Dying Light 2 update 1.23, calculated as 1.023 on PS5, is out now. It is this update that the developers call patch 1.8.1, which is an addition to the 1.8.0 patch released yesterday and makes the game more stable on the PC version.

In terms of content, everything is almost the same as in 1.8.0, but there are small fixes on the PC version.

In particular, in 1.8.0, for example, various fixes have been made to the cooperative game:

  • Fixed crashes on Xbox when accepting a friend’s session invite
  • Fixed an issue where the fourth player joining a session would get stuck in the table while talking to Severus
  • Fixed an issue with checkpoint blocking during the “Running to the Tower” mission in co-op
  • Improved the AI ​​of the infected during the “Run Boy Run” mission in co-op mode
  • Fixed controls becoming unresponsive after joining a co-op session on PS4
  • The game will now notify you if you are trying to connect to a host that is currently playing a dialogue or cutscene
  • Fixed an issue that caused the guard to spawn at the player’s location, immediately failing a stealth mission
  • Fixed an issue that could cause players to get stuck in an infinite wait during pre-challenge dialogue
  • Fixed an issue that prevented players from progressing through Villedor’s Madness missions.
  • The “Mad of Villedor” trophy will be unlocked in co-op after completing missions
  • Fixed numerous connection issues
  • Fixed an issue that could cause players to become separated during missions
  • Fixed some oversized icons in co-op
  • Progress in the “Between Two Fires” mission is now shared, allowing players to complete it simultaneously
  • Players can no longer break down doors that require a team to be mustered
  • Fixed quest issues causing players to get stuck.
  • [PS4] Fixed a crash after completing the Windmill mission.
  • Manika’s Ice Shield mods are now upgradable
  • Fixed an issue that prevented players from starting missions in co-op
  • Sleeve Shield received sounds when playing together

Some gameplay changes have been made:

  • Fixed a black screen after canceling the “Prince of Thieves” quest.
  • Fixed a black screen after starting the Tower of Babel mission.
  • Improved Skullface’s resistance to elemental damage, making it harder than before
  • Fixed an issue where Biters would sometimes deal 0 damage to the player
  • [Xbox/PlayStation] Players can no longer get stuck during “Crystal of White
  • Fixed an issue where the finisher did no damage to Skullface
  • Fixed an issue where Legendary Encounters only rewarded players with Mutation Champions
  • Fixed an issue with missing a target marker when completing the “Satellite’s Dream” mission
  • Fixed an issue that caused some Ziplines to float in the air
  • [PS4] Fixed progress blocking when completing the Water Tower mission.
  • [Xbox] Preset items now drop correctly during the “Prince of Thieves” and “A Day in Harran” quests.
  • Fixed an issue that prevented outfits from unlocking as quest rewards in the Bloody Ties DLC
  • Fixed duplication of some shield mods in the Artisan upgrades tab
  • Fixed an issue that caused weapon mods to display incorrectly when previewing multiple opera costumes
  • Bow headshots now deal the correct amount of damage
  • Changed the damage bar for players in Opera to make fights more difficult
  • Fixed human enemy AI no longer allowing them to use Skullface abilities
  • Players can now drop purchased bounties from the bounty seller in Carnage Hall
  • Swing animations are faster to hear on par with Dying Light 1
  • Fixed restarting activities in Opera
  • The True Nightrunner achievement should now properly unlock after completing all Nightrunner challenges
  • Fixed Deathloop in Opera after killing a guard
  • Fixed the quest “Mads of Villedor”

Also, the Reduce Motion Sickness option is now available in the Accessibility menu.

Dying Light 2 is one of the games that will receive NVIDIA DLSS 3 support. There is no timeline yet, but we will let you know when open-world FRP is updated with this technology.
