Stay at a luxury hotel; The accused who did not pay the bill of Rs 23 lakh was arrested

New Delhi: The accused who stayed in a luxury hotel in Delhi and drowned without paying the bill has been arrested. Mohammed Sharif (41), a native of Dakshina Kannada in Karnataka, was arrested by the police. The young man drowned without paying the bill of Rs 23 lakh.

He stayed at the hotel for four months under the pretense of being an employee of the Abu Dhabi royal family. The accused had booked a room at Leela Palace on August 1 and left the hotel on November 20 without anyone knowing. Apart from not paying the bill, the hotel staff also alleged that he had stolen many items from the room, including silverware and an expensive tray. Sarojini Nagar police registered a case on January 14 on the complaint of hotel manager Anupam Das Gupta.

He had told the hotel staff that he lives in the UAE and is closely related to a member of the Abu Dhabi royal family and a sheikh. He said that he came to India for official business purposes. He used his business card and UAE resident card to convince the employees. Accused Muhammad has paid Rs 11.5 lakh in the bill. He had given a check of Rs 20 lakh to the hotel staff. But the date on the check was November 20 when the accused left the hotel, so the check returned.
