Status Quo halfway through the day 2
After the points race, the team elimination, the go around and the team race, Lindsay De Vylder and Robbe Ghys are still outstanding in 1st place in the general classification.
The two have a narrow lead of 4 points over Benjamin Thomas and Fabio Van den Bossche. Roger Kluge/Theo Reinhardt completes the top 3. Jules Hesters remains alert in 4th place with fellow New Zealander Aaron Gate.
Jules Hesters is a little younger, but we’ve already had a lot of laughs. Yesterday he surprised me with his singing talent.

Aaron Gate has fun with Hesters: “There was already a good laugh”
After day 1, the Jules Hesters / Aaron Gate duo took fourth place in the general classification of the six-day Ghent event.
“Everything is going well at the moment,” laughed the New Zealander who combines the road and track. The 33-year-old sprinter sees no problem in collaborating with the 26-year-old Hesters.
“He’s a little younger, but we get along well. We even had a lot of laughs in the room. And yesterday he surprised me with his singing talent. I didn’t expect that .”
The only downside? “He’s a local boy. That comes with extra weight,” Gate winks. “I also needed some time to get to know the track. It’s more technical than others. Maybe I should let Jules do all the sprint numbers.”
