After October bankruptcy The Russian new car market has returned to the slow recovery seen in the previous four months. According to the agency Autostat, 51,525 new passenger cars were registered in November (including both official and “parallel” sales). This is immediately 19% higher than in October, when only 43,308 new cars were registered. However, compared to the November 2021 result, demand still decreased by almost half (by 48.8%).

Lada’s share continues to grow, reaching 41% in November. 21,107 cars were sold in the month, more than in November 2021, albeit by a symbolic 1.1%. But if Vesta, Largus and XRAY were then on the conveyor belt, now more than half of the sales have fallen on a simple grant – 12,780 cars a month. Vesta is still in the top ten bestsellers (stocks in warehouses turned out to be plentiful), Largus are also on sale, but XRAY has almost disappeared from car dealerships.
After Lada, the Chinese brands Chery (5,537 cars), Haval (4,467) and Geely (3,351) occupy a dense group in the sales ranking. The backlog from the leader is still large, but the “Koreans” have already been pushed back and so far they have no chance to regain their positions. And Exeed showed the largest increase over the past year: 1609 cars were sold, which is more than four times as many as in November last year.

The same picture in the rating of models. The top ten is entirely Lada and Chinese crossovers. The most popular foreign car is Chery Tiggo 7 Pro (3192 units), which ranks third, and Kia Sportage among non-Chinese models with a total of 706 cars. In general, Chinese cars accounted for 31% of all sales in November, which is a new record.
In just eleven months of 2022, nearly 570,000 new passenger cars were sold in Russia. This is 59% less than the same period last year. That is, according to the results for the whole year, the market volume will be approximately 620 thousand cars.
