Xavier Niel’s Parisian start-up incubator, Station F, is launching a new program around technologies dedicated to women’s health, called “Femtech”. The principle is to host around ten start-ups per session, at a rate of two per year for six months. The first call for applications runs until October 2, for a start on November 18.
“Femtech is a huge challenge in improving women’s health, but companies face multiple barriers in this industry, both in terms of funding and growth. At Station F, we believe it is a great opportunity to make women’s lives easier “, said Station F’s general manager, Roxane Varza, in a press release.
Designed with the help of 50 experts
The program was designed with the help of 50 industry experts, investors and entrepreneurs, who will participate in the workshops.
Among the femtech start-ups that have already crossed the road on campus include Intimately, a lingerie marketplace for women with disabilities, TalQ, a “self-education in sexuality” platform, Powerful, a brand of sextoys, Talm, a cosmetic brand dedicated to pregnant women, and Sonio, which develops software to diagnose fetal malformations.
Station F directly manages two other support programs: “Founders”, which assists 200 start-ups, and “Fighters”, dedicated to entrepreneurs from disadvantaged backgrounds. The campus had not launched a new program internally since 2017.
