Several states continue to issue stimulus checks during December. Financial aid reaches thousands of beneficiaries in the United States every day. Financial relief can be perceived in several ways; as a tax refund or through a stimulus check. In all cases, direct payments will be made to the eligible person. Here we tell you which states issue payments before the end of the current year.
States that pay in December
On December 1, Alabama began sending tax refund checks to its eligible residents. To obtain this direct payment, state taxpayers must have submitted a 2021 Individual Income Tax return.
Meanwhile, the state Department of Taxes must have received it on October 17, 2022 or before to qualify. The payment to be received is up to $300.00 USD for taxpayers who filed a joint return and $150.00 USD for single taxpayers.
Meanwhile, in Alaska the permanent fund dividend (PFD) belonging to the year 2023 is sent. The figure to be received as of December 14 is $1,312.00 USD. The payment will go to people who appear in “Eligible-Not Paid” status by December 6.
In the state of Montana, stimulus checks have been received since last June. Financial aid comes in the form of individual income tax refunds. Individual taxpayers get $1,250.00 USD or the amount on line 20 on Form 2, whichever is less.
Refunds have also been sent in New Mexico since last June. Individual taxpayers filing a 2021 personal income tax (PIT) return are eligible for a refund of $500.00 USD and joint taxpayers for $1,000.00 USD.
Finally, in Washington its residents have until the end of December to apply for the Working Families Tax Credit (WFTC). It provides payments of between $50.00 USD and $1,200.00 USD. The deadline to claim the credit is the 31st. It may take up to 90 days to process the application and receive the refund.
