President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan makes statements after iftar in Ankara.
At the beginning of his speech, he referred to Israel’s raid on Masjid al-Aqsa and said, “I condemn the vile actions of Muslims against the first qibla, and I call for the attacks to be stopped as soon as possible. This is called provocation politics. My Palestinian brothers are not alone. It is our red line to reach out to Mecsid al-Aqsa. The highlights of Erdoğan’s speech are as follows:
“RETIREMENT IS NOT LOOKING FROM LIFE”
Today we are with our retired brothers. There are important turning points in the long journey of mankind. These include starting school, getting married, seeing their children mature, and of course retiring. Retirement is not a break from life; is to start a new phase of your life. My retired brothers are the crown of our heads. Being with you in the second spring of your life and serving you is the greatest honor for us. It is the duty of every member of this nation to respect his pensioner, which means a person who has given a lot of effort.
“WE WILL ALWAYS BE WITH YOU”
While retirees were almost left to die in many parts of the world during the epidemic, in our country there was a section on which we trembled. The world’s strongest healthcare infrastructure mostly serves our retirees. Park, walking area, outdoor sports facilities are primarily at your disposal. With the retirement arrangement, we saved 2 million 250 thousand citizens from the age barrier and provided them with the opportunity to join this extended family. We will always be with you on your retirement days.
“I EXPECT YOUR SUPPORT”
You are the ones who know the old Turkey best, the poverty, poverty, crisis, pain and losses of the old Turkey. Maybe you find it difficult to explain to our young people where the 20 years of our country came from, but you are the living witnesses of this. We have brought together the century-old shortcomings of our country in education, health, justice, safety, transportation, energy, industry, agriculture, sports and social assistance. Hopefully, we will build the Turkish Century together. I am asking for your support in this matter.
“THEY ARE COMING TO DESTROY WHAT HAS BEEN DONE”
With the last regulation, we increased the lowest pension to 7 thousand 500 liras, approximately 400 dollars. We have increased the minimum wage to 8 thousand 500 liras, the disability pension to 2 thousand 400, and the 65-year-old pension to 1900 lira. Someone is pursuing a policy of exploitation over the salaries and bonuses of our retirees. They are not coming to rule the country. They come to distribute the president to at least 7 people and the ministries to at least 50 people. Will it work like this? These are coming to destroy what has been done, to stop what continues.
