For the first time, parliamentarians recorded in the final documents the importance of creating an international Crimean platform as a format for consultations and coordination in order to end the occupation of Crimea.
“It is important and timely to call on the European Union to remain ready for the rapid imposition of strict economic and financial sanctions against the Russian Federation if the Kremlin continues to neglect its international obligations and once again launches an attack against Ukraine,” the message says.
The Euronest Parliamentary Assembly is a parliamentary forum within the framework of the Eastern Partnership, created to promote political association and further economic integration between the EU and Eastern European partners.
The Assembly has two components: the European Parliament and the Eastern European Partners. Each component elects a co-president of the assembly. The component of the Eastern European partners is represented by the delegations of the countries participating in the Eastern Partnership: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine – 10 delegates from each country. The European Parliament is represented by 60 delegates.
