Statement: General Directorate of State Security Forces Arrests Child Molester in Lebanon

The General Directorate of State Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued a statement saying, “The General Directorate of State Security (P.S.) has arrested him, after verifying that he committed child molestation. He is currently being investigated under the supervision of the competent judiciary.”

He added, “(A.S.) owns a shop in Beirut, and he lures children to his establishment, and sometimes to his home, where he harasses them, offering them material and in-kind temptations. The Service and Information Division of State Security spotted him, stopped him, and took him to the Directorate, where he He was charged with children whom he had assaulted in the presence of a representative from the Juvenile Institution, then (A.S.) was placed in the competent court to carry out the legal requirements against him.

A source in State Security explained, “Strict directives were issued by Major General Saliba in this regard, because cases of harassment and rape have recently increased in Lebanon for various reasons, including cases of moral immorality and a departure from the values ​​that the Lebanese have always cherished.”

He pointed out, “Due to the absence of serious awareness in schools and universities to urge young women and men to be on the safe side and protect themselves from harassers. The source sent a message to the parents, to warn their sons and daughters, to be frank with them, and to warn them to confront anyone who tries to touch them or invite them to separate places, and for the children to be honest with their families.” When any accident occurs, because the consequences of neglect are very negative for every child or adolescent, avoiding psychological wounds, which they may bear the consequences and suffering of throughout their lives.
