In the 17th week of Spor Toto Super League, Fenerbahçe and Beşiktaş drew 2-2, Ülker Stadium hosted one of the most crowded matches of recent years. In the derby, which was followed by approximately 50 thousand Yellow-Navy Blue fans from the stands, undesirable images emerged between the fans as well as the tensions experienced in the field.
After the match, a fight broke out in the stands, and there were cheers against Beşiktaş and Black and White players during the match. After the match, the broadcaster’s announcer Yalçın Çetin made a statement on his personal social media account because of these slang chants that the derby watchers heard from time to time in front of the screen.
‘I’M SORRY AGAIN’
Yalçın Çetin said, “In my daily life, I can’t praise bad words, let alone swearing and using slang words. I didn’t hear the sound of the tribune because I had headphones on and I focused entirely on the broadcast. In the second half, I defined the image reflected by FB fans with the light of their mobile phone as a visual show. “I try to reflect their beauty. All my life I have made an effort not to offend anyone. I believed that apologizing when mistakes were made is a virtue. I sincerely apologize to everyone I hurt and upset without knowing it. With all my love and respect.”
